Manchester, Maryland is home to three parks, featuring trails, hiking, ponds, a nature center, and more.
Pine Valley Park has more than 60 acres and is located in the north part of town. It features trails, a natural spring, a pond and pine and hardwood forests. It is adjacent to nearby Manchester Elementary School. The park features Charlotte’s Quest Nature Center, and provides educational programs, a nature center with animals, a Bocce Ball tournament, and more. It is named “Charlotte’s Quest” as a tribute to Charlotte B. Collett, the then Town Councilwoman who oversaw the park’s development.
Christmas Tree Park is located in the northeastern part of Manchester and has the largest developed park land in the area. It features several baseball diamonds, three tennis courts, multiple playgrounds, and picnic and grilling areas. The park is named after the many pine tress that it has that resemble Christmas trees.
Westside Memorial Park is small park on the west part of town that runs parallel to Route 27, and has a skateboard park in it. It is scheduled to be turned into a water management facility.
