Manchester, Maryland was named the 2nd Safest City in Maryland, according to rankings from Safewise, a website dedicated to making communities safer.  Manchester actually moved up in the rankings, previously ranking #3. The website has praise for Maryland’s state of safety:

Maryland has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to crime. In early 2017, the Old Line State launched the Justice for Victims Initiative, which supports current victims of crime and helps prevent more citizens from experiencing this situation. The initiative unites victims, advocates, law enforcement, and government to help keep Maryland a safe place all can call home.
