The Board of County Commissioners voted (4-1, Commissioner Howard abstaining) to approve a new trailblazer transportation route for the Hampstead/Manchester area and a new bi-directional route for Westminster and approved staff to proceed with public notice for a public hearing.

Deputy Director of Public Works Dave Reese delivered a presentation highlighting new services for the Carroll County Trailblazer system. The new services add a new central transit hub at the Business Employment Resource Center (BERC), new Hampstead/Manchester TrailBlazer Route, new Westminster Bi-Directional Route and new stops on the existing Eldersburg, Taneytown and South Carroll Routes.

Next steps will include a 30-day public comment period, finalization of all stops, installation of new signs and implementation of a marketing campaign communicating the new services. Implementation is expected in August.

The open session discussion will be available for viewing on the county meeting portal, YouTube channel, and the county Facebook page. In addition, all meetings will be replayed on Comcast Channel 24.
